Cookie Dough Flautas Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 8 small flour tortillas
- vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
- Mix the flour, butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a medium bowl until well combined.
- Add in the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until the dough comes together.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Place a spoonful of the cookie dough mixture onto a tortilla and spread it out evenly, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Roll the tortilla tightly around the filling and place it seam-side down on a plate. Repeat with the remaining tortillas and filling.
- Heat a few inches of vegetable oil in a deep pot over medium heat until it reaches 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Carefully place a few of the flautas into the hot oil and cook for about 1-2 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
- Remove the flautas from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
- Repeat with the remaining flautas.
- Serve the flautas hot with your choice of dipping sauce. Enjoy!
