Frisch’s Chili Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 large onion, diced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 cans of red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can of diced tomatoes
- 1 can of tomato sauce
- 2 cups of water
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for added heat)
Instructions:
- In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the onion and garlic to the pot and sauté for a few minutes until softened.
- Stir in the kidney beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, water, chili powder, cumin, salt, black pepper, paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using).
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 30-45 minutes, or until the flavors have melded together and the chili has thickened.
- Serve the chili with your choice of toppings, such as shredded cheese, sour cream, and chopped green onions.
