Hmong Egg Roll Recipe
To make Hmong egg rolls, you will need the following ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 head of cabbage, shredded
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
- 1 package of egg roll wrappers
Instructions:
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat until it is fully cooked.
- Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and shredded cabbage to the skillet. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, until the cabbage, is wilted and the onion is translucent.
- Stir in the salt, pepper, and soy sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the flavors are well combined.
- Remove the skillet from the heat and allow the filling to cool.
- Lay out an egg roll wrapper with a corner facing you, and spoon about 2-3 tablespoons of the filling onto the wrapper. Roll the wrapper tightly around the filling, tucking in the sides as you go.
- Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Carefully place the egg rolls in the hot oil and fry for 3-5 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the egg rolls from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
