Patti Labelle 7 Up Cake Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup 7 Up
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp lemon extract
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until well combined.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Mix the flour, baking soda, and 7 Up in a separate mixing bowl.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the buttermilk.
- Stir in the vanilla and lemon extract.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9×13-inch baking pan.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool completely before serving.
- Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a sprinkle of powdered sugar, if desired. Enjoy!
