Instructions
Preparing Datil Peppers:
Wash the Datil peppers thoroughly and remove the stems. You can also take off the seeds for a softer sauce.
Sautéing The Aromatics:
Pour a little oil into a pot and heat it over medium heat.
Add chopped onions, carrots, celery, and minced garlic to the saucepan.
Sauté the vegetables until they are transparent and tender.
Blending The Peppers:
Combine the sautéed vegetables with the Datil peppers in a blender or food processor. Blend until a smooth consistency is reached.
Cooking The Sauce:
Return the mixed mixture to the saucepan after blending.
Add white vinegar, water, sugar, honey, and salt to the saucepan.
After bringing the mixture to a boil, lower the heat, and simmer it for 15 to 20 minutes. Stir occasionally.
Straining And Bottling:
Once the sauce has thickened, remove it from heat and let it cool slightly.
To get a smooth texture and get rid of any solids, strain the sauce.
Carefully pour the Datil Pepper Sauce into sterilized glass bottles or jars.
