Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh lump crab meat
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup minced fresh parsley
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce adjust to taste
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

Prepare The Crab Mixture:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the lump crab meat, mayonnaise, red bell pepper, green bell pepper, celery, parsley, Dijon mustard, Old Bay seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, hot sauce, salt, and black pepper. Gently fold the ingredients together until well combined, being careful not to break up the crab meat.

Shape The Crab Cakes:

  • Divide the crab mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into thick patties. Place the breadcrumbs on a plate and coat each crab cake evenly with breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to adhere.

Cook The Crab Cakes:

  • In a large skillet, heat the butter and vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once the butter is melted and foamy, add the crab cakes to the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and heated through.
