Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup fresh Door County cherries washed, pitted, and chopped
  • 1/2 cup mixed bell peppers red, yellow, and green, finely diced
  • 1/4 cup red onion finely chopped
  • 1 small jalapeno pepper seeds, and membranes removed, finely minced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro chopped
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the cherries by washing, pitting, and chopping them. Set aside.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the chopped cherries, mixed bell peppers, red onion, minced jalapeno pepper, minced garlic, and chopped cilantro.
  • Squeeze the juice of one lime over the mixture.
  • Add ground cumin, salt, and pepper to taste. Mix well to combine all the ingredients thoroughly.
  • Taste and adjust the seasoning, adding more salt, pepper, or lime juice if desired.
  • Allow the salsa to sit for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  • Serve the Door County Cherry Salsa immediately with tortilla chips or your favorite dippable snack.
