Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb flank steak thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp oil vegetable or sesame
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 medium onion sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp ginger grated

For The Sauce:

  • ¼ cup shoyu soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • ¼ cup beef broth or water

Instructions

Step 1: Prep Your Ingredients

  • Slice the flank steak thinly against the grain for tender pieces. Season with salt, pepper, and cornstarch. Toss to coat evenly—this helps lock in the meat’s juices.
  • Prepare your broccoli florets, onion, garlic, and ginger so everything’s ready to go.

Step 2: Make The Sauce

  • In a small bowl, whisk together shoyu, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and beef broth. Set aside.

Step 3: Cook The Beef

  • Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Add the beef in batches to avoid overcrowding, cooking each side for about 1-2 minutes until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Step 4: Stir-Fry The Veggies

  • Add the remaining oil to the pan. Toss in the onion, garlic, and ginger, stirring for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they turn bright green and slightly tender.

Step 5: Combine And Serve

  • Return the beef to the pan. Pour in the sauce and stir everything together.
  • Let the mixture simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken slightly.
  • A filling dinner, serve hot over steamed rice!
