butter
2
tablespoons
vegetable oil
½
cup
all-purpose flour
1
teaspoon
sea salt
½
teaspoon
ground black pepper
Fresh parsley
chopped (for garnish)
Lemon wedges
for serving
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare The Fillets
Pat the hake fillets dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. This ensures a crispy coating.
Season both sides with sea salt and ground black pepper.
Step 2: Coat The Fillets
Place the flour in a shallow dish.
Dredge each fillet in flour just enough to coat it, then shake off any excess.
Step 3: Heat The Pan
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil and butter over medium heat.
Once the butter melts and starts to foam, it’s ready for the fish.
Step 4: Cook The Hake
Place the fillets in the skillet, presentation side down. Cook for 3-4 minutes, until golden brown.
Gently flip the fillets and cook for another 3-4 minutes on the other side.
Pro Tip: Avoid overcrowding the pan to ensure even cooking and crispiness.
Step 5: Serve And Enjoy
Transfer the cooked fillets to a serving plate.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges.
