  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke optional
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper adjust to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional

Preparing The Meat Mixture

  • Start by mixing the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder in a large bowl. Ensure the spices are evenly distributed throughout the meat.

Adding The Flavors: Honey And BBQ

  • In a separate bowl, combine the honey, BBQ sauce, liquid smoke (if using), cayenne pepper, paprika, and red pepper flakes. Mix well to create a flavorful glaze.

Stuffing And Shaping The Snack Sticks

  • Prepare the snack stick casings according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Slide the casings onto the nozzle of a sausage stuffer, leaving a few inches hanging off the end.
  • Carefully push the meat mixture into the casing, being sure not to overstuff.
  • Twist the casing at regular intervals to create individual snack sticks.

Smoking Or Baking: Cooking The Sticks

  • If using a smoker, preheat it to 175-200°F (80-95°C). Alternatively, preheat your oven to 200°F (95°C).
  • Place the snack sticks on the smoker rack or on a baking sheet if using the oven.
  • Smoke or bake the sticks for about 2-3 hours, or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).
