Ingredients
  

  • 2 dried Guajillo chiles
  • cup vegetable broth
  • ½ onion chopped
  • ½ carrot chopped
  • 2 tbsp white sugar
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar
  • 1 tbsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp molasses

Instructions
 

  • Begin by soaking the chiles in water for about 30 minutes. After soaking, remove the stems and seeds.
  • Combine all ingredients in a food processor or blender. Blend until well mixed. The sauce will have a liquid consistency with diced chunks.
  • Your Lizano Sauce is now ready to be enjoyed with a variety of dishes such as eggs, rice, beans, fish, cheese, curries, or as a marinade for meat.
