Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound dried peaches
  • 1 cup husked wheat
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 orange peel
  • 10 cups water

Instructions
 

  • Soak the dried peaches in water overnight in the refrigerator.
  • The next day, drain the peaches and reserve the soaking water.
  • Place the peaches, husked wheat, sugar, cinnamon stick, and orange peel in a large pot.
  • Add the reserved soaking water and the remaining 10 cups of water.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes, or until the peaches are tender.
  • Remove the pot from the heat and let it cool completely.
  • To serve, place a few tablespoons of the cooked husked wheat in a glass.
  • Add a few peach halves and top off with the syrup.
  • Serve cold and enjoy!
