In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, garlic, black pepper, rosemary, and thyme.
Transfer the flank steak to a shallow plate or a big resealable bag. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it’s fully coated.
Tip: For the best flavor, let the steak marinate for at least 4 hours in the fridge. Overnight marination is even better!
Step 2: Bring Steak To Room Temperature
Take the steak out of the fridge about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps it cook evenly.
Step 3: Cook The Steak
Broiling Method:
Set the oven rack 4–6 inches away from the heat source and preheat your broiler to high.
Place the marinated steak on a broiler pan or baking sheet lined with foil.
Broil for 6-7 minutes per side for medium-rare. Adjust cooking time to your preferred doneness.
Grilling Method:
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
On the grill, cook the steak for 5 to 6 minutes on each side. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature is around 130°F for medium-rare.
Step 4: Rest And Slice
After cooking, move the steak to a chopping board and give it ten minutes to rest.
Slice thinly against the grain for maximum tenderness.
