Ingredients

  • 1 cup apricot preserves
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • A pinch of salt to taste

Instructions

  • Combine Ingredients: In a medium saucepan, mix together the apricot preserves, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, smoked paprika, ground mustard, black pepper, and salt.
  • Simmer: Place the saucepan over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring frequently to ensure the ingredients are well blended and the sugar fully dissolves.
  • Reduce Heat: Once the mixture has reached a simmer, reduce the heat to low. Allow the sauce to simmer gently for about 20-25 minutes or until it thickens to your desired consistency. To keep the sauce from sticking to the pan’s bottom, stir from time to time.
  • Cool And Store: Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the sauce cool to room temperature. Once cooled, transfer the BBQ sauce to a clean jar or container. Keep refrigerated for a maximum of 14 days.
